Summer Party Ideas

It’s that time of year again, hot, humid, 90 degree Weather, water, fun and less clothes. Not to mention some of the hottest parties you will attend or throw. So how can you out shine your competition. Hire a Party Planner, or If you’re really good Do It Yourself. Here’s some great idea’s to get you Party Ready for Summer.

Summer Party Idea’s for 2010!!

Luau’s

Pool/Beach

Roof Tops (with a view)

Caribbean (Jamaican Me Crazy) (Bahama Mama)

When doing a themed Party everything should be in theme, from the décor’ to the dress code all the way down to the Menu and even drinks.

Luau Must Haves- Tiki Bar, dress should be Bikini/swimsuit and grass skirt, Kabobs, dishes containing Pineapple and Ginger, you get the idea.
Caribbean (Jamaican) You may want to go with a neutral brown and cream colors maybe. Décor should be in wood, and bamboos. Jerk Chicken (a must), Jamaican Rum, dishes containing coconut, Island wear light clothing Rasta wear Sarongs, Scarf tops etc.

For a Roof Top event I would lean toward an All white Exclusive Private Party, very Elegant, and may lean toward hiring an event Planner for this type of event.

Bridal Rockn'

In light of the “Bridal Rock” event I’m hosting June 27th at Sushi Rock. I wanted some inspiration on rock n’ roll weddings.

Not everyone can wear a black wedding dress, but this bride pulled it off elegantly. Not only is the detail in this dress amazing, it also compliments her bouquet.

Loves the U Shape table design for a more intimate wedding. The veil is breathtaking also.

Loves the place setting design on this inspiration board,

This was inspiration for Bridal Rock.....Exciting, Hip, Fun Bridal Event!!!

You Only Turn 1 Once!!!

A Child's 1st birthday is a milestone birthday, one they may not remember but one as a parent you will never forget. I had the honor of planning Goldin's 1st Birthday, and let's say the birthday girl loves to party!!!

There was face painting.

The Winnie the Pooh Candy Buffet was a big hit with the kids. The cake is a honey pot just like Winnie's except this is Goldin's Honey Pot made by Cakes 2 Envy (Cakes2Envy.com) Sense Winnie the Pooh has so many colored involved I used candy with the same concept. The candy was Skittles, cookies and cream Hersheys kisses, Blow pop suckers, Twizzlers, and Rainbow Twizzlers, Lifesavers, M&Ms, and Gummie Bears.  I used lil' treat bags to put the candy in as a unique party favor verses the traditional candy in bag. This way the kids can decide what candy they really want.

The centerpiece was even more simple. A vase filled with Skittles, and suckers. It sat on top of yellow, pink, and red tulle and confetti.

Be Kiddie Inspired.

Event Coverage: "Let's Talk About Pep" Wrap Party

I'm not sure if it's just me or not but I really enjoyed the season of "Let's Talk About Pep" it brings four African American women together to discuss their dating adventures every week. It was a breath of fresh air to see positive black women being portrayed, instead of in a negative manner.

Pep who of course was of the popular 90's hip hop group Salt N' Pepa who has been holing out for four years and is ready to get back into dating to find someone to get her groove back.

Jackie, who is a journalist is also known for her work on BET, wants a husband and a man and isn't afraid to ask the right questions to her closer to her goal.

Joumana, model and sports journalist is also known as former wife of ball player Jason Kid. Her weakness: bad boys!

Kittie, known for her voice over work on BET's on Cita's World. Kittie has a lot to say and aint afraid to say.

What I think??? I really enjoy all three ladies no doubt. They all remind me of friends I know. For me its so hard to believe Pep aint had no one in so long. But, its also great to see she isn't giving it up to just anyone. I think Jackie is such a beautiful and intelligent black women and it's hard to believe she cant find a man. Joumana seems so shy to want a bad boy all the time, and Kittie I love her keep it real approach.

This show to me goes to show women who want but don’t need a man!!!

What do you think????
